These terms are between you and Milo Tech Forecast (“we”), the maker of Rainbow Index. In short: your library stays yours, Rainbow Index Unlimited is one purchase through the App Store, and you’re responsible for what you save and share.
The agreement
Rainbow Index is licensed to you, not sold, through the App Store under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). These terms add to that agreement and don’t replace it.
By using Rainbow Index, you accept the Standard EULA and these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights that you have by law and that an agreement can’t take away.
The app
Rainbow Index is a library for the links, articles, PDFs, videos, images, text and notes that you save on iPhone, iPad and Mac. There’s no Rainbow Index account. The app uses your Apple Account and stores your library on your devices and in your own iCloud.
Rainbow Index needs iCloud. Some features also need iCloud storage, an internet connection, permissions you give in Settings, or a supported device, language or region. iCloud, the App Store and Apple Intelligence are Apple’s services, and Apple’s terms apply to them. We may add, change or remove features in updates.
Your library
You keep every right you have in what you save and write, including your notes, highlights and comments. Your library is stored on your devices and in your iCloud. We can’t see it, and these terms give us no rights in it. The privacy policy explains how Rainbow Index handles your information.
What you save
Pages, articles, videos, images and files belong to their owners. Saving something, keeping a reader copy or transcript of it, or exporting it gives you no rights in it. Save, keep and share only what you have the right to. Websites and video services have their own terms, and they apply to what you save from them.
Pages change, and links stop working. Rainbow Index keeps a reader copy of each article it can read, but not every page gets one, and some sites turn away automated visits. We can’t promise that a page, video or transcript can be saved, or that the original stays online.
What you agree not to do
Don’t use Rainbow Index to break the law, to infringe anyone’s copyright or other rights, or to harass, threaten or harm people. Don’t use it to overload or interfere with websites, networks or Apple’s services.
Don’t copy, modify, sell or redistribute the app, and don’t reverse engineer it, except where the law or the Standard EULA allows.
The free version and Unlimited
Every feature is free for your first 50 items. To add more items, you need Rainbow Index Unlimited. Everything you’ve saved stays free to open, search, edit and export.
Items in Recently Deleted count toward the 50 until they’re deleted permanently. Items in a collection someone else shares with you count toward their limit, not yours.
Unlimited is a one-time in-app purchase. It removes the limit for good on your iPhone, iPad and Mac with the same Apple Account, and up to 5 family members get it too through Family Sharing. There’s no subscription.
Payments and refunds
Unlimited is sold through the App Store, which shows its price for your country before you buy. Apple handles the payment, refunds, Family Sharing and Restore Purchases under its own terms. We never receive your payment details.
To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Apple Intelligence and translation
Where Apple Intelligence is available, it writes summaries, suggests tags and collections, answers questions about your items and finds items you describe. Translations come from Apple’s translation. Both can be wrong or leave things out, and suggestions change nothing until you choose one.
Check the items themselves before you rely on a summary, an answer or a translation. None of them is medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
Backups
Keep your own backup of anything you can’t replace. Sync isn’t a backup: a change on one device reaches the others, deletions included.
Recently Deleted keeps what you delete for 30 days. While Backup Folder is on, Rainbow Index also copies your library to iCloud Drive, and changes you make to that copy don’t sync back. Export Library writes your whole library to plain files whenever you like, and it’s always free.
Warranties
To the extent the law allows, Rainbow Index is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that it will work without errors or interruptions, that it can save or read every page, or that nothing in your library will ever be lost.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue, that come from your use of Rainbow Index or from not being able to use it. Our total liability to you for all claims is limited to what you paid for Rainbow Index Unlimited or US$50, whichever is more. These limits don’t apply where the law doesn’t allow them.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Rainbow Index at any time by deleting the app. Your library stays in your iCloud until you delete it, as the privacy policy explains.
If you break these terms or the Standard EULA, your license to use Rainbow Index ends. The sections on warranties and liability still apply after that.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version appears on this page with a new date. Using Rainbow Index after that date means you accept the new version.
